Mitsubishi Motors announces new corporate tagline

Today Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) announced a new global tagline in order to clarify across all markets its direction for the future. The tagline, “Drive@earth,” will be launched first in Japan during the summer of 2008, and is intended to convey two major themes:

First, Drive@earth means that automobiles connect us to the world. Mitsubishi’s 4WD legacy has catapulted a generation of drivers to every corner of the earth, from desert dunes to city streets. Rally-tested toughness, performance and reliability make Mitsubishi Motors a trusted name on five continents. New Mazda Crosswinds Concept Car to Premiere at 2008 Moscow International Automobile Salon

Mazda will present an all-new show car at this year’s Moscow International Automobile Salon. The concept is a sporty, compact crossover SUV designed especially for the Russian market.The Moscow show car is the latest concept to be developed using the new design direction called Nagare – following in the footsteps of Nagare, Ryuga, Hakaze, Taiki and Furai. Nagare, which means “flow” in Japanese, represents a new approach to expressing movement in car design, taking as inspiration the flow patterns of natural elements, such as the wind. The design theme of Mazda’s concept for the 2008 Moscow motor show is “crosswinds”.

Mitsubishi Motors unveils Lancer Sportback at Paris Motor Show

 

Mitsubishi Motors Corporation will unveil, for the first time at an international motor show, the Lancer Sportback at the Le Mondial de l’Automobile 2008 (Paris Motor Show 2008) being held in Halls 1-8 of the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles from October 2 (October 4 for the general public) through October 19. The Lancer Sportback will have its European launch this fall with a phased introduction into the various countries in the region.

The company will also be displaying the Lancer Ralliart and Lancer Sportback Ralliart models that are based on the Lancer*1 sports sedan and Lancer Sportback. These models are powered by a turbocharged engine mated to Mitsubishi’s Twin Clutch SST (Sport Shift Transmission) and delivering power to all four wheels through an Active Center Differential.

Chevrolet Lacetti-Nubira-Optra replacement to debut at Paris motor show

 A spokesman for the division’s UK office has told AutomotiveWorld.com that Chevrolet Europe’s next generation Lacetti/Nubira is to have its world premiere at the Paris motor show on 2 October.

The current model, which is built by GM Daewoo at its Kunsan plant in South Korea on the former Daewoo Motor’s J200 platform, is a rebadged version of the six-year old Daewoo Lacetti/Nubira.

Nissan to make new generation Micra in India

 

 NEW DELHI: Japanese auto major Nissan Motor Co on Tuesday said it has identified India as one of the five low cost countries to manufacture its new generation compact cars, including the Micra.

“Nissan will compete in the entry-car market with a dedicated new A platform that will be used for at least three models, including the next generation of Micra, and will be built in five Leading Competitive Countries (LCCs),” the company said in a statement.

The company said production sites for the new family of compact cars would include the new plant in Chennai being constructed by the Renault-Nissan Alliance.
