Actor Kevin Dillon will be doing a James Dean imitation of sorts for the next four weeks on the DIY Network.
Dillon, best known for his role on HBO’s “Entourage,” will build a kit car replica of the 1955 Porsche Spyder made famous by the late actor in the 1950s. Dean died in an accident on a California highway in 1955 while driving a 1955 Porsche 550 Spyder on his way to a car race.
The four-episode half-hour series begins at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday and will air weekly through Sept. 24.

“We are keeping our inventories tightly in line with projected market demand,” said GM Canada spokesperson Stew Low. “The U.S. market continues to be a challenge and we are keeping a close eye on inventory levels.”

General Motors Corp. is offering retirement incentives to 9,000 — about 28% — of its U.S. salaried workers, people familiar with the plan said.
GM has said it hopes to cut 15% of its U.S. and Canadian salaried workforce, or about 5,000 employees, as part of the cost-cutting efforts it has instituted in response to a weak U.S. economy and high gas prices that have driven a dramatic shift in consumer preference away from trucks to more fuel-efficient cars and crossovers. The cuts are part of a plan to reduce $10 billion in spending to sustain GM until 2010.
