2011 Infiniti M Makes Virtual Debut at Concours d’Elegance

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. (Aug. 14, 2009) – Infiniti today provided an advanced look at the all-new 2011 Infiniti M performance luxury sedan at the 59th Annual Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. This is the third generation of Infiniti’s popular M and the first to be sold across all of Infiniti’s 32 markets around the world, including Western Europe.

Like the current Infiniti M, the next-generation design will be offered with V8 and V6 engines. The 2011 M models will be designated the Infiniti M56 and Infiniti M37 respectively, reflecting their more powerful, larger displacement engines. The M56 V8 is expected to offer more than 400 horsepower. For Western Europe, the M56 will be replaced by a V6 performance diesel.

The 2011 Infiniti M also features a completely redesigned body, with authentic sports sedan proportions and evocative new styling with a low front end and deeply sculpted fenders inspired by the Infiniti Essence concept car. The new M interior promises to be pure Infiniti, highlighted by the use of innovative materials, an advanced climate control system, superior audio and an enhanced quality feel. Despite improved performance from the new engine lineup, fuel consumption will be reduced.

In addition, the 2011 M will continue Infiniti’s technology innovation leadership with a blind spot intervention system. This industry-first system is designed to help alert the driver if another vehicle is detected in an adjacent lane during an intended lane change, and then help assist the driver in returning the vehicle toward the center of the original lane of travel.

The 2011 Infiniti M, which is scheduled to go on sale across the world starting from spring 2010, was revealed through a unique “video mapping” process – in which a “virtual M” was created on a 3D form. It is the world’s first “virtual only” (no physical vehicle) automotive application of this cutting-edge technology. The 2011 Infiniti M will make its official public debut later this year.

NISSAN’S LUXURY ARM Infiniti has released the first teaser image of its upcoming replacement for the M45 luxury sedan, a car which will be sold in Japan, Europe, the United States and possibly Australia.

Infiniti doesn’t mention any technical details of the new M, but the company has confirmed the model will be making its official debut at a private event at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on August 15.

The stylised rendition of the new M’s profile above shows that Infiniti is breaking new ground with its latest road car, borrowing heavily from the sweeping lines of its recent Essence concept

The new Inifiniti M is expected to hit dealers in the US and Europe by early 2010. Expect Nissan to drop in a 3.7 liter V6 as well as a V8 powerplant. Apparently, there will also be a hybrid variant as well, which may come later.

Nissan will stop produce Quest minivan,Armada and Infiniti QX56 at the end of 2010

Word started to spread late last year of the demise of Nissan’s Armada, Quest and Infiniti QX56 models, and it appears as though those reports were at least partially correct. Nissan confirmed on Wednesday that U.S. production of the Armada/QX56 and Quest will end by 2010.

Although none of the three will be produced in the U.S. after 2010 – the trio’s Canton, Mississippi plant will be converted to produce Nissan’s new commercial vehicle line – it’s not necessarily the end of the road for the QX56 and Quest. According to Motor Trend, Nissan will continue producing the QX56 and Quest minivan in Japan after 2010.

Although the future of the Armada is uncertain at this point in time, the future versions of the QX56 and Quest will be produced in Japan. The absence of the Armada from the list of ‘future production’ implies that it has finally met its end in this generation. The reason for this, of course, is its significant fall in sales of 50.4 percent last year in contrast to 2007. The Canton factory will be taken over by the latest NV-series of commercial vehicles. Meanwhile, on a lighter note, Nissan-Infiniti’s latest version of the M, QX and a brand new gasoline-electric hybrid version have been given a go for production.

3.7-Liter VVEL V6 Provide Year-Round, All-Climate Excitement –

When the road calls, the Infiniti G has always been quick to answer. Since its introduction in 2002, the G has been known for delivering the most rewarding combination of fluid design and exhilarating performance in its segment. It’s a reputation that’s been burnished in the intervening years, with the successive introductions of second generations of each – the G37 Sedan and G37 Coupe – both brimming with advanced technology including the responsive 3.7-liter V6 with VVEL technology, available Intelligent All-Wheel Drive and premium audio and navigation systems.

Now, the Infiniti G is about to embark on a voyage to another dimension – the wide-open exhilaration of wide-open motoring – with the introduction of the all-new 2009 Infiniti G37 Convertible, which is scheduled to go on sale in spring 2009.

“As the latest expression of our Inspired Performance, the Infiniti G Convertible instills equal parts lust and envy – lust for its exotically beautiful styling and envy for its unmatched performance credentials,” said Ben Poore, vice president of marketing for Infiniti.
The G Convertible retains the Infiniti’s G’s sporty long cabin/short trunk proportions through use of a three-piece steel hardtop, providing a “dual beauty” – that rare occurrence when a convertible looks as good with the top up as down.

The G Convertible’s inviting interior includes standard leather-appointed seating, an available Bose® Open Air Sound System that dynamically changes equalization based on outside noise, top position and vehicle speed, an Adaptive Dual Zone Climate Control System that adjusts fan speed in accordance to top position and vehicle speed, and available Climate-Controlled seats that provides both heating and cooling functions.

Every 2009 G37 Convertible comes equipped with a standard 3.7-liter VQ-series V6 with VVEL (for Variable Valve Event and Lift) rated at 325 horsepower. The engine is backed by a choice of an electronically controlled 7-speed automatic transmission with available magnesium paddle shifters or a responsive close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission.

Infiniti offers zero-percent financing on 2008 models

Nissan Motor luxury Infiniti brand is offering zero-percent financing for 36 months on all 2008 models to help consumers sidelined by the credit market squeeze, the automaker said on Wednesday.

The roll-out of the annual year-end sales promotion aimed at clearing out inventory comes ahead of its typical December launch schedule.

Nissan provides vehicle financing through its captive finance arm, Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation, and increased discounts mean reduced profits for the automaker.

Nissan reported a 33 percent drop in U.S. sales for October on Monday, as industry-wide auto sales plunged to 25-year lows amid the lack of credit availability and record-low consumer confidence.

“We know there is still a demand for the luxury and performance of Infiniti automobiles, but with the negative consumer news of late, consumer perception is there’s no financing available,” said Ben Poore, vice president of marketing for Infiniti.

Infiniti also offers leasing as an alternative to traditional financing while some automakers have held back, Poore said.

General Motors Corp Chrysler LLC and Ford Motor Co have curtailed vehicle leasing in response to tighter borrowing costs for their captive finance arms and tumbling values of trucks and SUVs.

The sharp drop in U.S. industry-wide auto sales in October raised the stakes for an immediate and aggressive round of discounting in November and December.
