Bangkok, 16 October 2007 – For the first time in a generation, the opportunity to own a legendary piece of Thai automotive history and a simply magnificent piece of engineering has arisen. The personal vehicle of Thailand’s only race car champion is available in an exclusive online auction, having just been faithfully restored in Great Britain.
Prince Birabongse Bhanutej (Bira), son of King Rama IV, is said to have single handedly put Siam on the world car racing map. His 1937 Rolls Royce Sedanca Coupe was first registered in Feb 1937 and was his personal car until 1949. This ELR497 is one of only 1201 25/30 chassis built by Gurney Nutting, the coach-builders for the British Royal Family.
This rare opportunity to own a piece of history will take place from October 1st, 2007, until December 31st, 2007, exclusively at: www.birasrolls.com
