Changan Suzuki will be produce all-new Alto in 2009 and focus to BRIC market

Suzuki Motor will debut its seventh-generation Alto at the 2008 Paris auto show which is to be held on October 4-19, said cheshi.net today.

Suzuki will start the initial production of the latest Alto this October, launch Europe-targeted Alto production in December and then expand to other global markets.

The latest Suzuki Alto surely will enter the Chinese market. Sources said Suzuki’s Chinese joint venture, Changan Suzuki Automobile, will possibly produce the seventh-generation Alto in 2009.

The all-new Alto builds on the strengths of Suzuki’s unparalleled knowledge of small-car development. It combines fashionable and dynamic styles. The new compact car offers light weight to achieve low fuel consumption and low CO2 emissions. With CO2 emission below109g/km, the 1.0-liter engine powered model has met Euro V emissions regulations.

With overall higher levels of quality, comfort, and safety, the all-new Alto is a ready response to the needs of today’s drivers.

Apart from the new Alto, Changhe Suzuki, another Suzuki’s joint venture in China will also produce the Suzuki’s strategic model Splash in 2010

Suzuki Motor CORP. Thursday that it will start selling automobiles in Brazil in October, moving back into the only nation of the so-called BRICs - Brazil, Russia, India and China - in which it does not have a presence. The carmaker has signed a deal with SVB AUTOMOTORES DO BRASIL LTDA., which was established with local capital last December for the purpose of selling Suzuki vehicles.

* Suzuki intends to offer a lineup consisting mainly of sport utility vehicles in Brazil, with the Escudo seen as one of its mainline models.

* It aims to release around 2010 a vehicle that runs entirely on ethanol derived from plants, with Brazil among the markets the model is set to debut.
