Nissan Motor Co, Japan’s third-largest automaker by sales, plans to produce a 1-liter global strategic vehicle for developing countries in Thailand from 2010, the Nikkei reported on Wednesday, without citing sources.
Nissan is working with French partner Renault SA to develop a vehicle chassis smaller than that of such compact cars as the Cube, the business daily said. The company plans to make 100,000 highly fuel-efficient small cars based on this chassis in Thailand each year.
Nissan will invest some 20 billion yen in local subsidiary Siam Nissan Automobile Co to construct a plant, the report said.
More than half of production at the new site will be exported to neighboring Asian countries, it said.

It looks like a delivery truck.
I think that thing wouldn’t be saleable compared to others Nissan models.
