Suzuki Motor will debut its seventh-generation Alto at the 2008 Paris auto show which is to be held on October 4-19, said cheshi.net today.
Suzuki will start the initial production of the latest Alto this October, launch Europe-targeted Alto production in December and then expand to other global markets.
The latest Suzuki Alto surely will enter the Chinese market. Sources said Suzuki’s Chinese joint venture, Changan Suzuki Automobile, will possibly produce the seventh-generation Alto in 2009.

The new Pajero Sport will be phased in selected regions*2 such as Russia, the ASEAN area, the Middle East, Latin America and Oceania starting in the fall this year.

Kazamai, which means “swirling crosswinds” in Japanese, expresses the powerful yet nimble image of a stylish and compact crossover. The concept is based on Mazda’s long-term vision for technology development, Sustainable Zoom-Zoom, which aims to provide a unique balance between sporty driving fun and superior environmental and safety performance. Kazamai will be joined at MIAS by the Russian debut of Mazda’s CX-9 SUV, which was crowned 2008 North American Truck of the Year in February.

Mitsubishi Motors and PSA Peugeot Citroën of France said Monday that they would set up a joint venture in Russia to produce cars starting in 2011.
The factory in Kaluga, located 180 kilometers, or 110 miles, southwest of Moscow, will produce midrange sport utility vehicles for the Mitsubishi, Peugeot and Citroën brands, as well as midsize Peugeot and Citroën vehicles, with an overall capacity of 160,000 vehicles.
Production is due to start in 2011, the companies said.
The two automakers had separate deals with the Russian government granting them financial incentives to assemble cars in the country, and had said they were open to joining hands with undisclosed partners.

SAINT PETERSBURG, Dec. 21, 2007 (Thomson Financial delivered by Newstex) — Toyota Motor Corp inaugurated a new car assembly plant in Saint Petersburg on Friday as the Russian car market booms and the Japanese automaker aims to become the biggest producer in the world.
Toyota CEO Katsuaki Watanabe attended the opening of the Shushary plant, which will assemble around 20,000 Toyota Camry vehicles per year. Russian President Vladimir Putin was due to tour the factory later Friday.
‘There has been unprecedented growth in the Russian market. It has doubled in the last five years. We think the potential of the market is enormous,’ Watanabe said at the ceremony.

Renault SA, France’s second-largest automaker, agreed to buy 25 percent of Russia’s OAO AvtoVAZ, fending off a bid from General Motors Corp.
Renault will purchase the stake in Russia’s No. 1 car company from state-owned arms exporter Rosoboronexport, Valery Kartavtsev, a spokesman for the defense firm, said today by telephone. He declined to give a price.
“AvtoVAZ would have given GM some extra capacity — and will give Renault some extra capacity — in one of the hottest markets in the world,” said Erich Merkle, an analyst at IRN Inc. in Grand Rapids, Michigan. “It’s a bit of a gain for Renault.”
